Saheliyon Ki Bari is one of the most beautiful garden and among the major tourist attractions of Udaipur. Located on the banks of Fateh Sagar Lake it was built by Maharana Sangram Singh in 18th century for royal ladies. The garden is famous for its lush green lawns, carved pavilions and fountains. According to a legend the garden was designed by the king himself and presented it to his queen. Queen was accompanied by 48 maids in her marriage and to offer them a pleasurable moments this garden was made for them. The queen along with her maids spends some pleasurable moments in her leisure time.
The superb architecture of this garden provides a breath taking view to its visitors. There are four water pools in the garden that are embellished with numerous fountains, carved marble pavilions, lotus pools flower beds , marble statues of elephants enhance the romantic ambience of this magnificent garden and make it s worth visiting place of Udaipur. In the later years Maharana Bhopal Singh really liked this place and built the pavilions of rain fountains. The thought was to create an illusion of rain dancing with maids in the beats. The king used to enjoy around the pools and fountains of this garden. The garden also boasts a museum exhibiting the huge collection of Royal households, ancient pictures and paintings. The sprawling green gardens and fountains make Saheliyon ki bari a favorite tourist spot for relaxation and rejuvenation.
