Bagore-Ki-Haveli Udaipur: Situated on the picturesque banks of Lake Pichola at Gangori Ghat, Bagore Ki Haveli is a very congenial old building. It was built by Amarchand Badava the prime minister of Mewar in 18th century. This palatial building has 138 rooms, balconies, terraces, courtyards and corridors. All the rooms have an interesting and delicate display of glass and mirror work that adorned the walls. The two peacocks made up of small pieces of colored glass is a fine work of artistry of glasswork. A well preserved painting on the walls of Queen’s Chamber is a fine example of Mewar paintings. After the death the building became the property of Mewar state and is occupied by Maharana Shakti Singh of Bagore in 1878 and it acquired its name of Bagore- Ki- Heveli. The structure is neglected until 1986 and was handed to West Zone Cultural Center (WZCC). The Heveli now stages delightful evenings by organizing cultural performances of Rajasthani traditional dance and music to entertain its visitors. It makes it an ideal place for spending delightful evenings while enjoying the breathtaking view of Lake Pichola.
