The city has particularly a tropical climate with three main season’s summers, winters and monsoon respectively that dominated the city. It is the only place in Rajasthan that has quite moderate temperature throughout the year. The summer season runs from Mid March to June with the maximum temperature of 38°C. The winters run from October to February with the minimum temperature of about 11°C. Though the climate of Udaipur remains pleasant throughout the year but it is best to visit it in winters. The best time to visit this place is from September to March.

By Air to Udaipur: The nearest airport to Udaipur is Dabok Airport which is renamed as Maharana Pratap. It is just 24 Km from the city center. Domestic flights run by Indian Airlines, Kingfisher, Jet Airways connect this city of lakes to the other major parts of the country that includes Jodhpur, Jaipur, Mumbai and Delhi. Soon this airport is upgraded for International flights.

By Train to Udaipur: Udaipur City Railway Station is the main station that provides connectivity with Delhi, Jaipur, Mumbai and Ahmedabad. It is connected with Delhi, Kota and Mathura through “Mewar Express” with Kolkatta with “Ananya Express”. A train between Mumbai and Udaipur via Vadodara, Ratlam and Chittorgarh has also been introduced for the convenience of tourists.

By Bus to Udaipur: Udiapur lies midway between Delhi and Mumbai. National Highway NH-8 is 700 Km from both these metros. One can also reach Udaipur from Jaipur through Chittorgarh or Surat. One can even take Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) from Delhi to reach Udaipur.
